Water Robotics Summer Camp
BOTS On The Sound is Mount Si High School's annual robotics summer camp. For a full week in early August, students gather on the campus of Mount Si High School to design, build, and program underwater robots made from LEGO and other components. Working in teams, students compete in a series of missions that require the robots to maneuver in the water and accomplish specific tasks.
Who Should Join?
The camp is open to both female and male high school students entering grades 9 through 12. If you enjoy being creative and doing things out-of-the-ordinary, working on projects, and solving puzzles, this camp is for you. If you're curious about engineering or computer science and want to find out more about these fields, this camp is for you. If you think working with robots would be fun, this camp is for you. If you want to meet other students your age and do something fun this summer, this camp is for you. If you want something unique to add to your resume or college application, this camp is for you. If you have absolutely NO experience, but are willing to learn, this is DEFINITELY the camp for you.
Bots On The Sound will provide students with hands-on experience in engineering design, science concepts, and computer programming. Campers will learn how to work in a team-setting and use math and science to solve real-world problems. Throughout the week, special guests will drop by to talk about their personal experiences as engineers, scientists, or computer programmers, raising the students' awareness and interest of engineering and IT careers.
